When you submit a Data Rights Request (Know, Delete, Correct, or Limit), we need to verify it's really you before we hand over or change your personal information. This is required by privacy law to protect you from unauthorized access.
What We Check
For most requests, identity verification means confirming:
- The email address you submitted matches what we have on file for an account or recent purchase.
- The name you provided matches the customer record.
For more sensitive requests (like deletion of all data), we may ask you to confirm additional information — such as a recent order number — to make sure we're handing the action to the right person.
What If You Don't Have an Account?
If we can't find a customer record matching what you submitted, we'll let you know. In some cases we can still honor your request based on the email address alone (especially for opt-outs) — but for data access or deletion, we generally need to first identify a matching customer record.
What About Do Not Sell or Marketing Opt-Outs?
For opt-out requests (Do Not Sell, Marketing Opt-Out), we use lighter verification — usually just confirming your email address. Under privacy laws, opt-outs are intentionally easy and don't require the same level of proof as a data access request.
Timing
We may send you a verification email shortly after you submit your request. Please respond to that email if asked — if we don't hear back, we may not be able to complete the request.
